West Paw Toppl Treat Toy for Dogs - Stuffable Puzzle & Slow Feeder
The ultimate enrichment stuffable puzzle toy for dogs
A lot of dogs get frustrated with puzzle toys that are too difficult. The Toppl gets the balance right.
This is my go-to recommendation for dogs new to food puzzles, and it's the toy I reach for most often with my own dogs. The Toppl's thoughtfully designed cavity makes it easier to access than a classic KONG, which means less frustration and more successful enrichment – especially important for puppies, seniors, or dogs just learning how puzzle toys work.
But don't mistake "easier" for "boring." The Toppl grows with your dog, offering adjustable difficulty that keeps it interesting for months (or years).
Why the West Paw Toppl is this trainer's favourite!
Built for moderate chewers
- Perfect first puzzle toy - wider opening and contoured interior means dogs can actually reach the good stuff. Success builds confidence and food puzzle skills.
- Soft, rounded interior ridges - grips food securely but release with work. Gentle on tongues and teeth while still providing challenge
Customisable challenge
- Interlock two Toppl sizes for progression - the small + large stack together (sold separately) for a more complex puzzle as your dog's skills develop.
Doubles as a slow feeder
- Fill with meals to slow down gulpers. Healthier digestion, extended feeding time.
Easy to maintain
- Easy to stuff, easy to clean – wide opening makes filling simple, dishwasher safe (top rack).
Safe and durable
- Made in the USA from safe, non-toxic, BPA-free, latex-free, and phthalate-free materials.
Sizes
Small: 2.5" x 3" x 3" (6cm x 8cm x 8cm) - holds 1/4 cup
Large: 3.5" x 4" x 3.5" (9cm x 10cm x 9cm) - holds 3/4 cup
XL: 3.75" x 4.75" x 4.75" (10cm x 12cm x 12cm) - holds 1.25 cup
Colours
Blue, green, orange
Safety note
The Toppl is an enrichment feeding toy, not a leave-alone chew toy. Supervise during use and remove once empty or when play is finished. While incredibly durable, replace if damaged.
Stuffing ideas
- Quick & easy: kibble, wet food
- Frozen challenge: yogurt + banana, bone broth, layered wet food
- Slow feeder: regular meals portioned into Toppl
- Beginner-friendly: larger pieces of treats that are visible and reachable
Pro tip: Start with easily accessible treats (don't pack it tight) to build confidence. Gradually increase difficulty by packing more firmly or interlocking two sizes.
Whether you’re looking to entertain a puppy or challenge your seasoned pro, the West Paw Toppl provides endless enrichment for dogs of all ages and chewing abilities.
